Dave Humphreys
Dave has lived in Flamstead for over 25 years and has been on the Council for almost all of that time. There can be few people in the village who do not know Dave unless they either live in a cave or have only just moved to the village. He was a fireman for all his working life and he has many interesting tales of exploits on a fire appliance including being the first on the scene at the Buncefield explosion. Since giving up sliding down greasy poles he has turned his attention and skills to the plumbing world and there are not many houses in Flamstead where he has not cured a pesky leak, unblocked a U bend or stemmed an unexpected flood. He gives much of his free time to help village groups, not only the Parish Council, but he is on the Village Hall and Almshouses committee, where his practical advice and unflappable demeanour are invaluable. When not helping others, he can be seen out and about on his large motorbike or further afield enjoying the sunshine of Mallorca.
