The need for and adoption of a Parish Plan has been something that has been hanging in the balance for some years. As yet we are not embarking on the creation of a plan, but we are awaiting advice from the newly created Rural Protection Working Group as to whether this is something that we should consider in order to control and protect development in and around the village.
Many Parishes have already embarked on their own Parish Plan, but it is an expensive business and would probably cost in the region of £25,000. It is also, without exception, a very contentious subject as most residents, particularly of a small village, don’t want anything to change.
We will keep Parishioners updated as to the status of the Parish plan and, if and when it is decided that a plan would be a prudent measure, then it will be in full consultation with all members of the Parish.
