Music at St Leonard’s: Cider with Molly – The Ciderhouse Rebellion
5th April-7:30 pm - 11:00 pm
Now for something completely different! As we gear up for our BBC Children’s concerts over the week end, we’re also looking ahead to a truly special event on April 5th.
The Ciderhouse Rebellion, joined by the outstanding folk singer Molly Donnery, will weave their evocative magic through songs born of tradition.
From the misty beauties of ‘Mo Bhuachaillín Donn’ to the joyous race of ‘Murphy’s Running Dog’, this electrifying collaboration showcases raw talent and masterful musicianship.
Their improvisational approach ensures that every performance is uniquely spellbinding, drawing listeners into the very heart of the music.
Accordionist Murray Grainger and fiddle player Adam Summerhayes – both multiple FATEA award winners – have already captivated audiences with their mesmerising interplay. Now, with Molly Donnery (of The Haar) adding her exquisite vocals, their partnership has reached new heights. Their debut album A Little Bit Slanted (Spring 2024) has been praised for infusing traditional Irish songs with fresh vitality, earning accolades from BBC Radio 3, Phil Beer, and Folk Radio UK. Following standout performances at prestigious venues like London’s Green Note and Birmingham’s Kitchen Garden, they’re set for an exciting run of UK and Ireland tours. Don’t miss the chance to experience their extraordinary creativity live!
“A voice that encourages ever more attentive listening as you strive to catch every nuance of her impeccable delivery” –FRUK
“I became utterly bewitched by the beauty of what Summerhayes and Grainger had created. It
could justifiably be described as a folk symphony…” FATEA”…some of the most startling and
original music you will ever encounter. Compelling, exciting and utterly original” – Phil Beer, Show Of Hands.
